30 August 2010, Phuket - The 2010 Phuket Property Dot Com Pro Am Invitational pairs top professional golfers with amateurs at Phuket's Blue Canyon Country Club on 5th November 2010 in a round of golf to raise money for Phuket Has Been Good To Us Foundation.

This is the first charity Pro Am golf invitational of its kind on Phuket Island and offers over US$150,000 of prizes.

Headline sponsored by Phuket Property Dot Com, the 2010 Pro Am Invitational will bring up to 30 touring golf professionals from around the world to Phuket, further cementing Phuket's position as a leading golf resort destination in Asia. European Tour and Asian Tour players will join with amateurs to play Blue Canyon Country Club's celebrated Canyon Course, voted Best Golf Course in Asia by FinanceAsia (2003, 2006, 2008, 2009), followed by a four-course gala dinner. Being the only three-time host of the Johnnie Walker Classic (1994, 1998, 2007), the Canyon Course is renowned for its difficulty and will test professionals and amateurs alike.

Kuchar claims playoff win at The Barclays
null
PARAMUS, N.J. – Matt Kuchar stopped practicing for a playoff and walked over to the 18th green to watch with thousands of other spectators, planning to congratulate Martin Laird on the victory. A short time later, the celebration was for Kuchar.

His fortunes took quite a turn Sunday at The Barclays.

So did his golf ball.

Kuchar gave the FedEx Cup playoffs a memorable start with a 7-iron out of the rough that sent his ball toward the back of the green, where it caught enough of the slope to turn sharply to the left and roll to within 30 inches of the hole for a birdie.

“The shot came out beautifully,” he said. “I ran it up to that back right bank and saw the crowd just all of a sudden … like a wave of people standing and cheering. I knew it was getting good. That was an exciting way to cap off this tournament.”

Atwal wins Wyndham Championship as Monday qualifier
null
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Many players came to the Wyndham Championship for a push into the PGA Tour’s playoffs.

Not Arjun Atwal. He was playing for his spot on Tour.

Atwal won by a stroke Sunday at Sedgefield Country Club, becoming the first Monday qualifier to win on the Tour in 24 years.

After leading or sharing the lead after each of the first three rounds, Atwal shot a 3-under 67 in the final round. He finished at 20-under 260 and earned $918,000 – or, more than double the amount he previously earned this year, the reason why his future on tour had been in jeopardy.

“I told my caddie, ‘We’ve got nothing to lose this week. Just go out there and try and win it,”’ Atwal said. “Guys are going to be out there trying to secure their FedEx Cup spots or whatever. We’ve got nothing. I don’t have a card. I don’t have anything. Just go out there and free-wheel it, and that’s what I did this week.”
